This policy explains what data AstroWatch collects and how it is used. AstroWatch is operated by Shahzad Alvi, a sole proprietor in Pakistan. Questions: shahzad.alvi@astrowatch.live.
The app is local-first. Your birth details, profiles, and charts are stored only on your own computer. AstroWatch does not require an account and does not upload or transmit your chart data to us or to any server.
1. Information we collect
- Purchase & licence data — when you buy Pro through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft is the seller of record and collects your billing and payment details. Your Pro entitlement is verified inside the app through the Microsoft Store. We never receive or store your card details, and we do not receive your name or email from Store purchases.
- Email you give us — if you contact support or opt in to our newsletter, we keep that correspondence / email to reply and (if you subscribed) to send updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- Website usage & cookies — with your consent, we use Google Analytics (a Google service) to collect anonymous, aggregate statistics about how the site is used — for example page views, approximate region and device type. This sets analytics cookies. On your first visit a banner lets you Accept or Decline analytics; we set no analytics cookies unless you accept, and you can change your choice at any time via Cookie preferences in the footer. Essential cookies needed for the site to function may still be used.
2. How we use it
- To deliver, activate, and support your licence.
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To send product updates or newsletters, only if you opted in.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
3. Who we share it with
- Microsoft (Microsoft Store) — our Merchant of Record for Pro purchases; Microsoft processes your payment and taxes under its own terms (see Microsoft's privacy statement).
- Google — Google Analytics processes anonymous website-usage statistics on our behalf, only with your consent (see Google's privacy policy).
- Email / hosting providers — we use third-party web hosting and an email service to run the website and to send you transactional or newsletter email.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Data retention
We keep licence and purchase records as long as needed to support your licence and to meet legal / accounting obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time. Contact shahzad.alvi@astrowatch.live. Depending on your country (e.g. the EU / UK under GDPR), you may have additional rights; we will honour applicable requests.
6. International transfers
We operate from Pakistan, and our providers (such as Microsoft and Google) may process data in other countries. Where required, appropriate safeguards apply.
7. Children
AstroWatch is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date shows the current version.
Payments are processed by the Microsoft Store (Microsoft), the Merchant of Record for AstroWatch Pro purchases.
