Divisional charts (vargas) subdivide each sign into smaller slices and remap every planet to a destination sign within that division — a finer-grained lens on the same birth moment. AstroWatch computes all sixteen classical Shodaśavarga divisions; this page covers picking one and reading the result.

Each division follows its own classical Parashari mapping rule for turning a position within a sign into a destination sign — the Navāṁśa (D9) rule, for instance, differs by whether the birth sign is movable, fixed or dual. D1 is the free base chart; every other division, D2 and up, is Pro.
Choosing a division
View → Divisional Chart opens a submenu of all sixteen, radio-style — only one division is active at a time. Picking anything past D1 on the Free tier opens the usual upgrade prompt. Once a division is active, the chart card's header badge names both the chart style and the division together — e.g. South Indian · Navāṁśa — so it's always clear at a glance what you're looking at.

How signs are remapped
A divisional chart only remaps signs, not exact degrees — every planet (and the Ascendant) is placed at the centre of whichever sign its division rule resolves to. That makes vargas a sign-level reading, not a degree-level one: useful for a fast structural read of one life theme at a time, distinct from the degree-precise Rāśi (D1) chart everything else on the Dashboard works from.
Requires a square chart style
Divisional charts are drawn by the same square renderer as the North/South/East Indian styles covered on Wheel, North, South & East Styles — picking a division above D1 while the Wheel (Western) style is active doesn't change what's drawn; the wheel still shows the plain D1 Rāśi chart. Switch to North, South or East Indian to actually see the remapped division. The one exception is the planet-detail widget, which appends the varga sign to its readout (e.g. "House 7 · D9 Scorpio") regardless of which chart style is active, as a quick reference even without switching.

What's next
That completes the Vedic toolkit — nakshatras and padas, the Vimshottari Daśā timeline, and the sixteen divisional charts all build on the same sidereal foundation as the chart styles covered earlier. From here, the timing tools put that same chart to work over time: Aspect Calendar →
