Report Languages

Write reports in your client's language. Choose English, Urdu, Hindi, German or Turkish in the Report Manager, and every report preview and PDF export follows — Urdu set right-to-left in Nastaliq.

The interpretation engine behind AstroWatch's natal, predictive and synastry reports is now multilingual. The words of a report — chapter titles, planet and sign names, and the interpretation text itself — can come out in five languages.

Choosing the report language

Open Tools → Report Manager. Next to the report type, source and ordering lists is a language list (tooltip: Report language — used for this preview and all PDF exports):

  • English
  • Urdu — اردو
  • Hindi — हिन्दी
  • German — Deutsch
  • Turkish — Türkçe

Pick one and the preview re-renders straight away. The choice is saved, and from then on every report PDF — Reports → Export Natal Report, the predictive reports and the Synastry report — is written in that language until you change it.

English fallback, piece by piece

A report is built from many pieces of text. Any piece that hasn't been translated into the chosen language appears in English, so a report is always complete — never a page with gaps. As more content is translated, more of the report appears in your language automatically.

Urdu interpretation content is the most complete today. In Hindi, German and Turkish, the report's fixed words are translated while much of the interpretation text still falls back to English — the content grows with each update.

Urdu, right to left

  • The PDF pages flow right to left and use the Noto Nastaliq Urdu typeface with comfortable line spacing.
  • English words inside Urdu sentences, and any English fallback sections, are kept left to right so they read correctly.
  • The Report Manager preview shows Urdu text right to left as well.

Hindi uses a Devanagari typeface, and Turkish uses Turkish capitalisation rules.

What stays in English

  • The AstroWatch logo line on the cover, and the return-house table labels.
  • Interpretation source codes.
  • Parts of the report that AstroWatch composes from calculations (for example some timeline event titles) until their wording is translated.

Translating content yourself

With Pro you can translate interpretation content in the Interpretation Workbench: switch its Language list to the target language, and the editors hold the translation while the English original is shown for reference. The Terms button translates the report's own words — planet, sign and house names, chapter titles, topic names and fixed labels. Your translations are used in the next preview and export. See Interpretation Workbench.

Report language and interface language

The report language is independent of Settings → Language, which translates the app's screens (Interface Language). The Kundli PDF and the Kundli Matching report are the exception: they follow the interface language.
