Interface Language

The whole AstroWatch interface is available in English, German, Turkish and Hindi. Switch any time from Settings → Language — everything relabels instantly, no restart.

AstroWatch 3.1 speaks four languages. Menus, dashboard cards, dialogs, tooltips, messages and the Vedic chart labels all follow the language you choose.

Changing the language

Open Settings → Language and pick one:

  • English
  • Deutsch · German
  • हिन्दी · Hindi
  • Türkçe · Turkish

The change is immediate: open pages, cards and dialogs relabel in place, and AstroWatch remembers your choice. The menu keeps the English word next to its own — Sprache · Language, भाषा · Language — so you can always find your way back.

The Settings menu open with the Language submenu showing English, Deutsch · German, हिन्दी · Hindi and Türkçe · Turkish, English ticked.

Settings → Language.

A few controls drawn by Windows itself — date and time pickers, the right-click menu in text boxes — switch fully the next time you start AstroWatch.

What changes with the language

  • Every screen — menus, the dashboard and its cards, the Expanded Chart, all dialogs, tooltips and messages.
  • Dates and times — month and weekday names follow the language. German and Turkish use the 24-hour clock on the dashboard (21:45), and their own date order.
  • Hindi typography — Devanagari text uses a proper Indic font without letter-spacing, including the labels drawn inside the North, South and East Indian charts (लग्न, graha abbreviations, the (व) retrograde mark).
  • The Kundli PDF is written in the interface language (Kundli PDF Booklet), and so is the Kundli Matching report.
The Vedic dashboard with the interface in Hindi: Hindi menus and card titles, and Devanagari labels inside the North Indian chart.

What stays as it is

Some things are names rather than words, and are kept the way astrologers recognise them:

  • House-system names (Placidus, Koch, Sri Pati …) and ayanamsa names (Lahiri, Krishnamurti …).
  • Chart theme names (Cosmic, Obsidian Noir, Ivory …).
  • In German and Turkish, Sanskrit terms in the Vedic Suite — nakṣatra, tithi, yoga, Mahādaśā, koota and saham names — stay as practitioners use them, while the grahas and signs get German or Turkish names.
  • Your own data — profile names, places, event names — exactly as you typed them.
  • CSV exports and the lunar-day and Arabic-mansion lore in Movements of the Moon.

Anything not yet translated falls back to English rather than leaving a gap.

Interface language vs. report language

The interface language and the language of your interpretation reports are separate settings. You might run AstroWatch in English but produce Urdu or Hindi reports for clients. The report language is chosen in the Report Manager and covers the written PDF reports — see Report Languages.
